Jung-Pfalz-Hutte in Annweiler am Trifels

A nice hiking home with a wonderful view. The Waldhaus is a fine example of the hiking hut culture in the Palatinate Forest. Here hikers or cyclists can expect a rustic ambience, reasonable prices and a hospitable welcome. Addendum: even in Corona times when the hut is closed, the view of the Palatinate Forest is worthwhile.

The Jung-Pfalz-Hütte is one of the few huts that has not yet been commercialized. Simple meals are offered here at very fair prices. The view from the hut is unique among forest huts. On the terrace you sit high above the Wasgau and can look far into the hilly landscape.

Great view, great food with top price performance

Great ... I wasted forty years not walking to the Jung-Pfalz-Hütte. I can be really angry. Great service, great people, beautiful view, comfortable hiking trail. The children liked to run from the gymnastics youth home to the hut, while they passed a spring, had a drink and went on ... A beautiful lookout rock was the highlight in between. At the hut there was soup with sausage and cake and coffee and Riesling pint. For the children a grape juice spritzer and a playground and everyone was satisfied. It was a really great trip. We recommend.

The view is phenomenal, the hut is simply beautiful, the atmosphere up there on the mountain is a dream and the ascent over the Schmalbühler Felsen is brutal :)

The location of the hut is a dream, none of the other hikers' huts in the Palatinate is more beautiful, this applies above all to the terrace, but also to the huge playground under the house. Looking at the playground, one wonders whether half the space would have been enough to set up more tables so that a little more guests can enjoy this breathtaking panorama with space around them. The food on offer in the Jung-Pfalz-Hütte has always been a bit meager, which is mainly due to the small kitchen. You just have to accept it, that too is the Jung-Pfalz-Hütte, which is run on a voluntary basis. Thank you very much to all active participants for their commitment! Inside the hut is tiny, almost too small, you hardly ever get a place there anyway. The planners of the playground should think about expanding the interior and maybe the kitchen in the hut. With a corresponding extension, the hut would be fit for the current hiking boom in the Palatinate Forest. In cool weather everything is bursting at the seams and the hut is not really a tip.

After a long climb out to the hut, we stood in line for a good half an hour in front of the food and drink counter. When it was finally our turn, there was only Servelatwurst, all other dishes and the cake was over. Hello? It was 3 p.m. and with the great weather there was a lot going on. During the descent, we warned ascending visitors, they too were angry and had already gained this experience there. Bad management and bad signage !!!

Prime location. To reach from Eusserthal in approx. 90 min. Brilliant view of the Palatinate Forest. Unfortunately closed due to Corona, which we knew beforehand thanks to a good website. We will come back and test food and drink

Absolutely beautiful view, delicious food, gladly again and again. The climb rewards you, with the great view. Beautifully landscaped playground for the little ones, climbing wall for the older children. Dogs are not allowed in the cabin, it is just too small, but at the playground there is a small hut, dogs are allowed in, good possibility in bad weather.
